His upcoming book, Reclaim Our Future: How We Can Make a World that Works for All, shows how the world system could be transformed into one that sets the conditions for all beings to thrive on a regenerated Earth. Breakdown being the eventual loss of self-repair in the system and inadvertent transitioning to a new state. How Can a Systems Lens Help Make Sense of the Unraveling? Join Jeremy Lent and Morag Gamble in a conversation with Dr. Fritjof Capra on Friday, Jan 10th to explore how systems thinking might help us comprehend these times. As the world prepares for the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump, there is every reason to believe that a political cataclysm is about to erupt. The election of someone who has vowed to be a “dictator” on day one to head the world’s most powerful country, with minimal institutional or legal restraints on his power, could turn out to be one of the most momentous events in the history of the modern world. In a broader global context, we are facing accelerating climate breakdown in the wake of the disastrous COP in Azerbaijan, worsening ecological devastation around the planet, dangerous global conflicts, and an ever-widening gulf of inequality between elites and the rest of humanity that is unsurpassed in history. Much of the world is struggling to make sense of what is unfolding, and what it will mean in the years ahead. It is increasingly clear that the dominant world order is unraveling—but where do we go from here?
